Bio of a Space Tyrant

This is a six book series by Piers Anthony. Wikipedia politely says:

It is considerably more adult-themed than many of Anthony's earlier works.

It's a series with a Hispanic male protagonist. It's very "adult themed" and a running theme throughout the books is that women important to him have been sexually assaulted and his first important sexual relationship is to a former child prostitute.

Off the top of my head, it's the only thing I can recall ever reading with a male protagonist that deals substantially with the impact of sex crimes on the main character.
